Game Development Update - Progress and Choices Await!


Greetings, gamers!

I wanted to share an exciting update on the development of our game. This week, I managed to complete the first part of the third day, and let me tell you, it turned out to be quite a lengthy segment. In this section, you'll have the opportunity to obtain, or perhaps not, the second fragment of the Necronomicon. Beware of the offspring of Shub Nigurath... they lurk in the most unsuspecting places.


After a well-deserved mini vacation, I'm back at it and already working on the second part of the third day. On Sunday afternoon, you'll have the chance to decide who you want to spend some time with, getting to know them better and potentially enjoying a pleasant encounter. Based on your requests, I'll strive to provide at least two variations for each meeting. Let's hope it all goes smoothly without dragging on too much.

Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all your comments and support. Your feedback continues to inspire and shape the game, and I appreciate each and every one of you.

Now, I'd like to throw a question into the air. Do you prefer the current format of receiving updates in full-day releases, or would you prefer more frequent micro-updates? I want to ensure that the delivery of updates aligns with your preferences, so please let me know your thoughts!

I agree with Nymrod that you should do what is comfortable for you.

But as for my personal choice, I would prefer just getting emails when there is a new release — the exception being that you are actively looking for input on some aspect of the game or are doing a poll or such.

I do have one personal suggestion for you, which I do not know is possible or not. That is, could you have some characters who have different body types? Like thin or average build or very tall or short and so on? Right now many of the characters seem to have , from the images you've posted, all body-builder-type of physics. I think have a range of different body-builds would help make the characters more unique.

(I was going to add that, in my opinion, it would also make the game "more realistic" but you are doing a game about the Cthulhu Mythos, so....)

I will say I have only played  a very little of your game, because I have been dealing with a lot of not-good-stuff in my life for most of this year, and I am literally saving playing it for when I am in a better mood and will be able to enjoy it a lot more.   :)

I will also add that because it is something I enjoy doing with itch.io games, I made my own start button and folder for "Leather & Madness" using  (of course) your own artwork — and I went *dark* on the folder.

The five characters for this game have been defined already and I don't think I will change them. I tried to make each one a bit different from the others. The most different one (and I must confess it's my favourite one) is Darius. So, id you are looking for something different, go for him. Chris is shorter than the others and has a black skin, Blake is muscular but thiner. Both Antonio and Elias are the big ones. 

I like what you have done for the start button and the folder. Looks great!

If you keep developing it as now, do whatever is more comfortable for you; if you feel that delivering days piecemeal compromises your vision, go day by day. Personally I'll enjoy seeing whatever content you are ready to show as soon as you can show it but what matters most is what you feel is better.

If you are going to transition to a paid format down the line though (e.g. Patreon), you should find a way so you can deliver at least some content in each payment period.

I asked this because the third day is taking more time than I expected. I've added extra content to fulfill some requests from people playing the game.

And don't worry. As I said in the past, this game is free and will always be free.

Right now I've finished the writing of the second part of day three, where you will be able to date one of the characters and learn more about them. So now it's time for the graphic part.

After that, there will be another night at the club to finish the day.

Probably it will take a couple two more weeks to have the third day finished completely.

I like the current way you release things. I feel micro-releases are just tedious, I don’t like it when other creators do that. But if it’s something that’s easier for you, I won’t really mind, as long as the game exists and your having fun☺️
